Hope Lutheran Church of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin is supporting the Fond du Lac community with all proceeds generated by their Walleye Weekend concessions sales. Sales consisted of burgers, brats and hot dogs, ice cream sundaes (consuming 82 gallons of ice cream); 2,375 snow cones, 655 freezer pops, an assortment of beverages and popcorn.

Local charity organizations Charis Pregnancy Help Center, Rawhide Youth Services, and St. Katherine Drexel Homeless Shelter were each provided $3,148.77 at a check presentation this morning by Pastor Phillip Enderle and Hope Lutheran Walleye Weekend Committee Members Laura Dow, Jessica Joseph and Mike Scharf.

Phillip Enderle, Senior Pastor at Hope said, “What a joy to serve this congregation which in turn serves the community.  We worked all weekend, and we gave all the money away. What an exhilarating experience.”

Charis Pregnancy Help Center offers free and confidential pregnancy services, including free ultrasounds for women in their first trimester.

“Charis Pregnancy Help Center is here to help save babies through our free first trimester ultrasounds, showing the life of a child yet unborn. We care for and encourage those who choose to carry them to birth and connect them with our mentors who come alongside them in their journey of pregnancy and parenting. Points are earned for the time clients invest each week in our mentoring classes and these points are used to “purchase” items in our baby boutique, which is filled with new baby clothes, diapers, etc. A big need we have now is for infant car seats. They are expensive and, in many cases, unaffordable for most of our clients. We are so grateful for this donation from Hope Lutheran today, as we can use these dollars to purchase car seats and other needed items for our boutique and center! THANK YOU so much!” said Cindy Sweeney, Ex. Director of Charis PHC.

Rawhide Youth Services is a faith-based charity committed to helping teens and young adults struggling with mental health, emotional and behavioral challenges and equip them with tools to live a healthy and fulfilling life.

“We here at Rawhide Youth Services are so incredibly grateful for your generous donation! We just opened our brand-new Equine Therapy Counseling Center in Fond du Lac in July and are so excited to use this gift to help reach more youth in need. Equine therapy helps with a wide range of issues including overcoming trauma, anxiety, substance abuse, and depression. We look forward to continuing to serve the youth in the Fond du Lac area for years to come. For more information about Rawhide, or our six other therapy locations, please visit our website, www.Rawhide.org. Thank you again for this beautiful gift!” said Macushla Berglund, Development Manager – Annual & Planned Giving.

In partnership with St. Vincent de Paul and Solutions Center, St. Katherine Drexel Homeless Shelter places a high value on positively impacting the human condition and subsequently, improving the lives of our neighbors.

“We look forward to providing a program that not only provides our neighbors a place to sleep and a warm meal but a program that helps them obtain self-sufficiency. Thank you to Hope Lutheran and all their support with this project,” said Amy Loof, Solutions Center Director of Homeless Services and St. Vincent’s Fond du Lac Council President Bob Hartzheim.
